Three persons were injured in a collision between a tricycle and a motorcycle along the national road in Bato town while a San Andres resident died when his motorcycle hit a tree along the highway in Calabnigan, Virac recently.
The report stated that the black Kawasaki Barako tricycle driven by Vicente Traqueña, 49, of Banawang, with business proprietor Gay Aloyon, 29, of Ilawod, and Maylene Tatel, 36, of Oguis, as passengers, was on its way to Bato poblacion at 6 P.M. of Jan. 29 along the highway in Guinobatan when it was struck by a black Suzuki 125 motorcycle without plate number, driven by Grade 9 student Greg Torcelino, 18, of Aroyao Grande, San Miguel.
Torcelino and the two women passengers of the tricycle sustained injuries on the different parts of their bodies and were taken to the nearest hospital.
Two days earlier, Roberto Tolin, 45, of Lictin, San Andres, was driving his Mitsukoshi motorcycle towards San Andres along the highway at Calabnigan at 9:30 P.M. of Jan. 27 when the vehicle veered off the road upon reaching the ascending curved portion of the highway. The motorcycle hit the acacia tree on the road shoulder and then fell on the pavement.
The seriously-injured Tolin was brought by responding personnel of the Philippine Red Cross to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center but he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Jefferson Espinola.
