The Commission on Elections has scheduled this Dec. 5 a conference on the disqualification case filed against Governor Joseph Cua by gubernatorial candidate Larry Que.

According to reports from Manila, the COMELEC’s First Division notified the parties and their counsels that the conference will take up, among others, the comparison between the original and/or certified true copies and the copies of documentary and real evidence. The meeting will also set the period to file the parties’ respective memorandum, which shall not be later than 10 days from Dec. 5.

The Nov. 20 summons also directed Gov. Cua to file a verified answer to the petition, which sought his disqualification for allegedly being an alien.

Presiding Commissioner Rene Sarmiento had earlier directed the parties to prepare and submit a summary of documents for comparison, documentary and real evidence including affidavits of witnesses as provided for in Resolution No. 9523.
