San Andres police authorities have yet to find clues as to the identity and motive of the suspect who hacked a 71-year old farmer to death and dragged the body to a nearby swamp.
The report identified the victim as Domingo Somaribos, a farmer and resident of barangay Palawig. His body was found by his son-in-law, Rico San Juan, 29, at 2 P.M. of Jan. 24, at the estuary of sitio Lidong.
The report said, that prior to incident, Somaribos went to the rice field he was tending. The police also disclosed that the victim was attacked at the rice field by the suspect, who then dragged his body to the swamp 150 meters away. The farmer sustained fatal hack wounds at the head, nape, face and right wrist.
Meanwhile, a teacher was injured when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a tricycle last week in San Miguel town.
Maricar Floranza, 29, a resident of Boton who teaches at Solong Elementary School, was driving her black Kawasaki Fury when it hit the Honda TMX-155 tricycle driven by Freddie Panza, 21, of Solong. The vehicles were going in opposite directions when the crash occurred at 11:40 A.M. of Jan. 27 at Sitio Auring in barangay District 3. Floranza was taken to the Eastern Bicol medical Center while the tricycle driver was placed under police custody.
