| "The Catanduanes Tribune, the oldest news weekly in the province of Catanduanes, was founded in 1981 by publisher-editor and provincial board member Fredeswindo Tomagan Gianan, Sr. It actually began publishing in 1967 but the declaration of martial law in 1972 cut short its existence. From the first 1981 issue, the Tribune has emerged as the most reliable, fair and crusading newspaper in the history of Catanduanes, earning its publisher The Outstanding Catandunganon Award in 1998. With the founder's death last May 2000, the paper is now being run by eldest son Fernan A. Gianan as publisher-editor and columnist, with Dr. Rodolfo V. Azanza, Jex Lucero, Tang Tacio of Isip-isipon ta, and Dr. Vietrez P. David-Abella as regular columnists. The Tribune began its Website edition in December 2000 and marks another milestone with an improved, interactive site in January 2005." | |
