INSIDE THE RADAR DOME,
trainees from the three PAGASA Doppler radar sites familiarize themselves with the Japanese radar system installed at the Buenavista facility. The dome’s fibreglass panel “skin”, pieced together by stainless bolts, can withstand winds of up to 450 kph.

THE SCHOOL LIBRARY
at Agban National High School in Baras town is now well-stocked with books, with teachers and students now enjoying the benefits of reading and learning using the educational materials. The establishment of the library, which is a priority project of the school based on its School Improvement Plan (SIP), has been assisted by generous donors and community leaders, including Governor Joseph C. Cua, who are continuing to pour in donations.

A 45-KILO GREEN SEA TURTLE
believed to be more than 20 years old was found along the seashore of Antipolo del Norte, Virac by fisherman Domingo Torio. It was released by PENRO Officer Joaquin Ed Guerrero, PhilHealth Staff led by Dr. Paolo Chua and Mr. Antonio M. Peña from the Office of Governor Joseph C. Cua at Twin Rock Beach Resort Jan. 16, in the 11th release of sea turtles back into the sea since 2007. In 2011, Gov. Joseph Cua initiated the Save Our Sea turtles (S.O.S) project which aims to ensure release of sea turtles back to their habitat.

WHAT REMAINS NOW
of the iconic PAGASA radar station built in the ‘70s in Buenavista, Bato is dwarfed by the 44-meter high Doppler radar tower beside it. The remaining two floors of the old building will be renovated by the agency, with the top floor to be used as observation deck for tourists.

has volunteered to be a conduit for any info that would help solve the gruesome rape-slay in his hometown of Baras. He condoled with the family of Margie delos Reyes and gave P15,000 as his personal assistance aside from a similar amount from the SP. He has asked residents as well as Tau Gamme Phi members to forward him any relevant information regarding the case.
